Nowadays, people are inclined towards green tea as the most natural and inexpensive weight loss plan to promote weight control endeavors. It’s very simple as well. Green tea is almost the same as all other tea and is drunk without added sweeteners and milk. In case if you don’t like the taste of green tea, you might opt for green tea extract.

Research has proved time and again that green tea helps in weight reduction by invigorating the body’s process of thermogenesis, which helps in increasing the energy expenditure and fat oxidation on your body. Many such compounds that can be found in certain plants have this kind of effect. The best part of having green tea is that it doesn’t escalate the heart rates and is alleged to be much safer than any diet pill like ephedrine that also functions by stimulating the thermogenesis.

People who are over weight are likely to develop hypertension and other similar cardiovascular diseases, so as green tea doesn’t exert pressure on the heart, it can be the ideal choice. This also means that you can increase the level of exercise without increasing the risk of cardiac problems.

There are two major ways of losing weight: i) eat less, fewer calorie consumption and ii) increase energy expenditure, using more calories. Green tea actually functions by increasing the output and this can go up to 4 . Most of the scientists hold a belief that this is caused due to the catechin content of the tea and its extracts; it is contained in high quantity.

Green tea also has the added benefit of potent antioxidants contained in the tea and has several health benefits. It strengthens the immune system and also protects us from diseases.

Remember, green tea also contains caffeine and as such you must cut out your coffee intake and other forms of tea as well while taking green tea. Decaffeinated green tea isn’t really good and is not recommended because of the chemical processes involved in removing the caffeine; this destroys the real benefits of the plant.

You must also exercise and control what you eat simultaneously. If you start eating more as a compensation for the calories you burnt by drinking the tea, you are unlikely to lose weight. You must keep the calorific intake same and take green tea along with it to achieve steady weight loss and improved energy levels over a couple of weeks. You can definitely speed up things by reducing your calorie consumption and / or exercising more than before.

Green tea can be regarded as the simplest, easiest and the most inexpensive, but natural aid to control weight that can also be incorporated conveniently into any weight loss plan. The preference of green tea or extract has something to offer to everyone. It’s safe and natural and can be made a part of your weight loss program to attain permanent weight loss.
